Repair and modification to solve problem of flooding gearbox

{image-1-right-350}This treatment plant at Hatfield House in Hertfordshire was not working properly as it was continually being flooded by the unusually bad weather and high water table.

In an attempt to stop the gearbox motor from being flooded, an extraordinary turret had been added to try and protect it from rising water levels within the Klargester. However the seals didn’t work and the gearbox motor kept being flooded. ESTS was called in to help.

Having thoroughly cleaned the treatment plant, we then modified the plant and added a pump specifically to pump out the water when it gets to a certain level. This proved effective and we now maintain 4 treatment plants at Hatfield House.
